These true-story cartoons were made while I was studying jujitsu in NYC with Sensei Maria Van Dessel at Biwako Dojo (now called Eizan Ryu Jujitsu). I didn’t even own a computer then.

Sketches from Florida. Yeah Mom, I did actually bring the dead wasp into your house so I could sketch it. No worries, it’s gone now.

My cat wanted to stay in the garden after dark so I stayed with her. Maybe that wasn’t such a good idea.


Neko the Cat and I have been spending early mornings feeding the squirrels nuts. I draw, the squirrels eat, Neko watches (and occasionally chases them until they either scurry away or assert that they really want that peanut).
*Tenkan is a martial art move whereby one moves to a position behind the opponent to gain control of the situation.

This is probably the only time I’ll post an article by someone other than myself here but….
